Learn the simple steps to brew Citrus Detox Tea by Tiesta Tea for a refreshing, antioxidant-rich drink that helps reset your mind and body.
Quick answer
To brew Citrus Detox Tea, steep 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea in water heated to 175°F for 3-4 minutes for a balanced, refreshing cup.
Why water temperature matters
Citrus Detox Tea combines mate, ginger, and citrus flavors with green and white tea bases. Using water that's too hot (near boiling) can scorch the delicate leaves, making the tea bitter. Aim for 175°F to preserve the bright citrus notes and the smooth ginger warmth.
Choosing the right brewing time
Steeping for 3-4 minutes extracts the full antioxidant benefits without over-extracting tannins. If you prefer a stronger flavor, extend by 30 seconds, but be careful—too long can make the tea astringent. For a lighter cup, reduce to 2.5 minutes.
Step-by-step brewing guide
- Boil and cool your water: Heat water to 175°F. If you don't have a temperature-controlled kettle, bring water to a boil and let it sit for 30-45 seconds to cool. Using water that's too hot can ruin the delicate flavors—always check the temperature.
- Measure the tea: Use 1 teaspoon of Citrus Detox loose leaf tea per 8 oz cup. Adjust for stronger or milder taste, but start with this ratio. Overloading leaves can lead to bitterness; stick to 1 tsp per cup.
- Steep and enjoy: Pour the water over the tea and steep for 3-4 minutes. Strain or remove the infuser, then sip and enjoy the citrus and ginger notes. Set a timer—steeping too long makes the tea bitter, not more flavorful.
