The mesh is so fine that even my tiniest loose leaf tea stays in place with zero grit at the bottom of the cup. I've been using it every morning for a week now and the tea still comes out full-flavored, no bitterness from over-steeping.
The mesh ball keeps the leaves contained while letting the flavor steep out evenly, and it’s the perfect size for a single mug. I’ve used it every morning for a week now, and cleaning it under the tap takes seconds.
I was skeptical it would hold loose leaves properly, but the mesh is fine enough that I get a clean cup with no grit floating around. It does its job for a single serving, though I wish the chain were a bit longer for my tall mug.
