ASSAM, ÍNDIA: A plantação de chá Hunwal está localizada no distrito de Jorhat, na região indiana de Assam, ao sul do rio Brahmaputra. Grande parte da região de Assam situa-se a uma altitude de 1000-4000 pés acima do nível do mar, o que lhe confere temperaturas mais frescas do que a média em comparação com outras regiões da Índia. Estas temperaturas frescas, juntamente com a elevada pluviosidade, aceleram o desenvolvimento de características muito ricas e fortes nas folhas de chá preto.
