La finca de té Hunwal se encuentra en el distrito de Jorhat, en la región india de Assam, al sur del río Brahmaputra. Gran parte de la región de Assam se sitúa a una altitud de 1000-4000 pies sobre el nivel del mar, lo que le da a la región temperaturas más frescas que el promedio en comparación con otras regiones de la India. Estas temperaturas frescas, junto con las altas precipitaciones, aceleran el desarrollo de cualidades muy ricas y fuertes en las hojas de té negro.

The smokey, toasty notes come through even without milk, which I didn't expect from an Assam. Two teaspoons in a 12oz mug steeped about four minutes gives me a solid, oaky cup that holds up all morning.

I've been drinking this every morning for a week and the oaky, toasty notes really come through without turning bitter when I forget it steeping. The smokiness is subtle, not like a lapsang, and it holds up fine with a splash of milk. For the price I'll definitely be keeping a tin of this around.
