ASSAM, INDE :

Le domaine de thé Hunwal est situé dans le district de Jorhat, dans la région indienne de l'Assam, au sud du fleuve Brahmapoutre. Une grande partie de la région de l'Assam se trouve à une altitude de 1000 à 4000 pieds au-dessus du niveau de la mer, ce qui lui confère des températures plus fraîches que la moyenne par rapport à d'autres régions de l'Inde. Ces températures fraîches, associées à de fortes précipitations, accélèrent le développement de qualités très riches et puissantes dans les feuilles de thé noir.

The smokey, toasty notes come through even without milk, which I didn't expect from an Assam. Two teaspoons in a 12oz mug steeped about four minutes gives me a solid, oaky cup that holds up all morning.

I've been drinking this every morning for a week and the oaky, toasty notes really come through without turning bitter when I forget it steeping. The smokiness is subtle, not like a lapsang, and it holds up fine with a splash of milk. For the price I'll definitely be keeping a tin of this around.
