I've been swapping my evening chamomile for this rooibos blend and the mint hits first, then the chocolate settles in behind it. Steeping it about five minutes brings out the cocoa without turning bitter. It's become the thing I look forward to once the kids are finally down.
I didn't expect chocolate and peppermint to work this well together in a tea, but the mint hits first and the cocoa lingers after. Steeping it for about five minutes before bed has become my little wind-down ritual.
The rooibos base makes this feel less like a normal peppermint tea and more like a dessert in a mug. I keep a tin at my desk for the 3pm slump and the chocolate note hits without any sugar. Steeping it a full five minutes is worth the wait.
