Steeped this at 195°F for three minutes and got that bright muscatel thing everyone talks about with first flush. It's lighter than an Assam but somehow still has this spicy finish that lingers. Been drinking it every morning this week instead of coffee.
The aroma alone is worth the wait – fresh and slightly muscatel, exactly what I hoped for from a first flush.
The first flush is so light and floral compared to the darker Darjeelings I usually drink, almost like a green tea with a muscatel edge. Steeping it at 90°C for three minutes kept the astringency down. This really is the champagne of teas.
