I was worried about the astringency since I usually drink lighter teas, but this one has a boldness that's oddly smooth once you get past the first sip. The sweet finish is what got me hooked.
The long, wiry leaves unfold beautifully and give a bold cup with that classic brisk astringency—yet the sweet finish sneaks in at the end. Exactly the character I was hoping for.
Steeped this for three minutes and the long wiry leaves opened up beautifully in my glass pot. That astringency is real but it's the kind that wakes you up, and the sweet finish lingers way longer than my usual bagged black.
